On this page CUR committee "Management and maintenance of national GEF standards" will provide information. Twice a year the committee is convening for a meeting. New developments and actions are discussed. E.g. the minutes (in Dutch) of these meetings can be accessed via this page.

Oktober 2007

1. A new release of the GEF2.dll, 3.1.1.1 d.d. 2007-10-02, is available. Our advise is to use this dll. There are many new functions. 
   • There is a new release of GEFID. The new dll handles both new and old files.
   • The names of the functions have been adapted to an international audience. These represent new functions, the functions with the old names are still supported. 
   • New functions have been added to delete the contents of keywords.
   You can download via this link the Gef2dll.zip, the release notes included.

2. The programmers documentation ahs been updated,  it is in synch with he gef2.dll.  You can download the documentation via this link .

3. The reference page for the GEF keywords has been updated and is in synch with the new release of GEFID.

September 2006

1. The new GEF2.dll has been released, version 2.2.2.1 d.d. 2006-08-11. We recommend you to install this dll. Changes with respect to a former version are minor.
   • A small bug has been fixed.
   • The keyword #OS= has been adapted for international use.

2. The document GEF-CPT-Report has been updated. Version 1.1.2 is currently available. There are (non mandatory) additions for:
   • Location specifically for line objects, like roads and dikes
   • Orientation of the inclination measurement with respect to a arbitrary coordinate system
   • Measurement of electrical conductivity
   • Measurement of magnetic field
   In chapters 3.7 and 3.8 these additions are explained. You may download the updated document via this link.

3. A new standard for the description of particle size analyses has officially been adopted. The document is available via the table of public standards. For more information, see the specific page for GEF-SIEVE-Report.

August 2006

The new GEF website is officially launched during the ICPMG conference in Hongkong. This website houses the available GEF standards for specific tests, (the ones nationally recognised and the ones registered at www.geffiles.org) and a description of GEF language. Finally generally available GEF software can be downloaded.

May 2004

An update of GEF-BORE-Report is released. Table 4.1 "Quantity numbers" is extended. You may download the GEF-BORE-Report (in Dutch) document via this link.

October 2002

GEF-CPT-Report has been updated with two non mandatory items: the method for the determination of XYID and ZID. You may download the GEF-CPT-Report version 1.1.1 via the table of public standards.

September 2002

The GEF-CPT-Verification programm has been updated. Version 1.1.0.0 is currently available. The self extracting archive gef-view.exe contains a manual and the programm: "GEF Verification.exe". Copy "GEF Verification.exe" to a directory of your own choice. The programm uses the gef2.dll. The latest version is available via this link.

September 2001

In order to improve the foundation of the GEF-standard in civil engineering, the CUR has organised a meeting for users. During this meeting the committees E15 (GEF-CPT-Report) and E18 (GEF-BORE-Report) granted the users a sneak preview in the kitchen where new developments have been prepared. The users were asked whether they felt a need for further developments. Finally existing problems were discussed and recorded. A complete report (JvD) of this meeting can be read (or saved in pdf-formaat). Note: the report is in Dutch.
